Toya, Martha

Martha Toya was a potter from Jemez Pueblo. Dr. Schaaf indicates she was born in the 1940s and became active in the marketplace in the 1960s. She mostly made traditional Jemez polychrome jars and bowls. She wasn’t very prolific.

Among her children are Marie Chinana, Lawrence Toya, Lupita Yepa and John F. Toya. Potter Elston Yepa is her grandson.
