Aquino, Martina

Martina Aquino was a potter from Ohkay Owingeh. She mostly made Potsuwi’i pottery, decorating it with a lot of rock art designs. In the 1970s she started collaborating with her son, Diego Aquino. He introduced her to other designs, both carved and painted. From 1974 to 1981 she and Diego were participants in the Santa Fe Indian Market. Their work was also included in the “One Space/Three Visions” exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum in 1979. She made pottery almost to the day she died in 1982.
