Hampton, Mary Ann

Mary Ann Hampton (1930-2019) was an Acoma Pueblo potter who became active in the marketplace around 1960. Her parents were Aurelia Sarracino Pasqual and Santiago Pasqual. She was never a prolific potter. She mostly made polychrome and black-on-white jars and bowls. She was most known for her “eye-dazzler” fine line designs. She said she had to paint those a bit at a time because “I start getting cross-eyed.”
