Lucero, Petra

Petra Lucero was born into Zia Pueblo in 1923. Contrary to most potters, she only made pottery early in life. She first appeared in the marketplace in the 1950s and was gone by the 1970s. In between, though, she made some beautiful classic pottery using her own version of the Zia roadrunner with lots of cloud formations and rainbows.
