Martinez, Pricila

Pricila Martinez was born in the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico in November 1987, the daughter of Arminda Quezada Hernandez and Reynaldo Martinez Cano. It was her husband, Santiago Ortega Ledezma, who taught her how to decorate pottery. For most of her pieces she employs sgraffito and paint to create scenes with fish and sea creatures. Santiago uses sgraffito and paint to create scenes with lizards, rabbits and other creatures of the earth.
