Panana, Reyes
Born in 1961, Reyes Panana of Jemez Pueblo didn’t get interested in working with clay until she was out of school. She says she learned her craft from many different sources but she is related to Pauline and Ralph Sarracino, Brenda Panana and Matthew Panana and perhaps got a few tips from them. She learned early on, though, that she most enjoyed making clay figures. She first appeared with them in the marketplace when she was 24.
Reyes seems to have specialized in creating koshare storyteller figures and koshare flute-player figures.
