Pino, Reyes

Reyes Pino was born into Zia Pueblo in the early 1950s. Her mother was Laura Pino, her maternal grandmother Ascencion Galvan Pino. Like her sister, Eleanor Pino-Griego, Reyes learned how to make pottery as she was growing up, through watching and working with her mother and grandmother. Like them she mostly made traditional polychrome jars, bowls and pitchers. Her favorite designs included birds and other flying creatures, cloud formations and kiva steps.
