Silveira, Rocio

Rocio Silveira started polishing pottery for her father when she was still a young child in Mata Ortiz. Then he had her filling in the design outlines that he painted. When she was 18, she married Fabian Ortiz, the son of Nicolas Ortiz. At first, she was helping him to make his own pottery. Then once she’d gotten comfortable with doing the whole process herself, she was off on her own.

Rocio’s pottery is easily distinguished by the vibrant colors she likes to use with her 3D and geometric designs.
