Toya, Rosalie

Rosalie Toya is a potter from Jemez Pueblo. The daughter of Frank and Margaret Toya and granddaughter of Juan and Reyes Toya, she was born in 1962. Lorraine Toledo is her older sister. They both learned to make pottery through watching and working with their mother.

Rosalie mostly makes matte polychrome jars, bowls, wedding vases and storytellers. Her work is easily recognized by the unusually vibrant colors she likes to use in painting her decorations.
