Brown, Rose
Rose Brown was born into Cochiti Pueblo in March 1959. Her heritage was 1/2 Cochiti and 1/2 San Ildefonso. She learned how to make pottery from Maria P. Romero, who had learned from her mother, Maggie Chalan, and her mother-in-law, Teresita Romero (Teresita is also the paternal grandmother of Diego Romero and Mateo Romero).
Rose liked to make storyteller figures and has sometimes been promoted as the only potter from San Ildefonso to make them.
