Cata, Rosita

Rosita Cata (1911-2008) of Ohkay Owingeh was the daughter of Santos and Petronite Cruz. She became an active potter late in her life, when she was in her 50s. She made mostly Potsuwi’i bowls and jars, decorating them with colored panels carved and incised with rock art-like straight, curved and wavy lines and geometric designs.
