Tanner, Roy

Born into Ohkay Owingeh in May 1957, Roy Tanner is the son of Stella Tanner. He learned to make pottery through watching and working with her as he grew up and he collaborated with her often later in life.

Roy specialized in making sgraffito-decorated redware bowls, miniatures and seed pots. His favorite designs included bears, deer, rams, raccoons, flowers, arrows and hummingbirds.
