Tanner, Stella

Stella Tanner Kwa Povi was born to Crucita Atencio Talachy of Ohkay Owingeh in 1937. Her brother was Joe Talachy, who married Thelma and moved to her home at Pojoaque Pueblo. Her sister was Mary Talachy who married Timothy Gutierrez and moved to his home at Pojoaque. But Stella married a man from Santa Clara Pueblo and moved to his home there.

Stella makes mostly redware bowls, seed pots and miniatures. She usually collaborates with her son, Roy Tanner. She also does embroidery.
