Roller, Susan

Susan Roller was born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1955. She is the daughter of Ted and Toni Roller, granddaughter of Alcario and Margaret Tafoya. Among her siblings are Morning Star Roller, Cliff Roller, Tim Roller, William Roller, Jeff Roller and Brandon Roller. Charles Lewis is her son.

Susan grew up in a pottery making household and, like her siblings, learned how to make pottery through watching and working with her mother and grandmother. She is most known for her blackware seed pots, melon bowls and miniatures but she essentially stopped making pottery in the late 1990s. Most recently she’s been a cantor at the Santa Clara Tewa Mission and at the Parish of San Juan Bautista in Ohkay Owingeh.
