Martinez, Susy

Susy Martinez is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. She usually collaborates with her husband, José Martinez. They mostly make glossy black pottery decorated with intricate matte black geometric designs but sometimes they make a few polychrome pots, decorated with geometric designs. Sometimes they each make their own pottery and decorate it with their own designs.
