Cordero, Tim
Tim Cordero (1963- ) is Helen Cordero‘s grandson. His parents were Jimmie Cordero of Cochiti Pueblo and Lenora Holmes of Hopi. George Cordero is his uncle, Toni Suina his aunt. He seems to have grown up mostly at Hopi, although in his later teenage years he was spending summers with his paternal grandmother. It was Helen who taught him how to make pottery and she made only figurines. That’s what he learned to make, too. His pieces first appeared in the marketplace when he was 16 or 17.
Tim only spent summers at Cochiti and only made pottery when he was at Cochiti visiting with his grandmother. When she passed on in 1994, he stopped going to Cochiti and stopped making his figurines. His pieces have become very hard to find.
