Naha, Tyra

Tyra Naha was born to Hopi-Tewa potter Rainy Naha in 1973. Her grandmother was Helen Naha, First Featherwoman. Her great-grandmother was Paqua Naha, First Frogwoman. Among her other relatives were Burel Naha, Sylvia Naha and Nona Naha. Needless to say, Tyra was exposed to a lot of pottery making as she was growing up.

Tyra signs her pieces with a feather, a 3, and a spider, denoting her place in the Featherwoman generational order, and her clan.
