Unknown Cochiti Potter

Except in rare cases, it was the mid-1950s before Cochiti Pueblo potters started signing their works. It wasn’t until then that they realized that different names/signatures had different values to the outside world. And most of them were catering to that outside world to make a living. There is almost no way to attribute any piece to any individual potter from the time before potters began regularly signing their pieces.
