Naranjo, Ursulita

Ursulita Naranjo (1924-1988) of Santa Clara Pueblo was the mother of Dolores Curran and Geri Naranjo, and mother-in-law of Jennifer Naranjo. Kevin Naranjo, Monica Naranjo, Ursula Curran and Alfred Naranjo are her grandchildren. Ursulita also helped to teach her son-in-law, Alvin Curran of Ohkay Owingeh, how to make pottery.

Ursulita seems to have specialized in making small and miniature blackware jars, bowls and seed pots, and decorated them mostly with sgraffito avanyu, feather and geometric designs.
