Dewakuku, Verla

Verla Dewakuku was born into Hopi-Tewa society in Tewa Village in 1932. She became an active potter around 1970, making mostly polychrome jars, bowls and plates. Her favorite designs to paint were Twin War Gods footprints, rain clouds, parrot tail feathers and other designs from the ancient pueblo of Sikyátki.
