Toya, Vernida

Born into Jemez Pueblo, Vernida Toya grew up learning how to make pottery the traditional way: through watching and working with her mother, Judy Toya. Like her mother, Vernida mostly makes grandmother, grandfather and Santa Claus storyteller figures, each with up to twenty children on them.
