Silveira, Yadira

Yadira Silveira is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. She learned how to make pottery from her mother, Socorro Sandoval, as she was growing up.  She is also the wife of award-earning potter Roberto Olivas and often collaborates with him.

Among her siblings are Lila Silveira and Trini Silveira. Many of her uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews are also potters.
