Biyo

About the Biyo'

A biyo' (from the Dineh) is a carved, scratched or formed necklace generally located between the shoulder and the opening of a jar. It always has a spirit break in it and often looks like either a twisted rope, braided rope or narrow band of rock art designs. Other than fire clouds, a biyo' is often the only embellishment on the surface of a Dineh piece.
